James
is from Cardiff, and was recommended to us by a previous
SJGS guest, Rob Koral.
He will be running a workshop, playing solo, and also
with some of our members. Bring your instruments to
this one.
James has recently worked with Thad Kelly, Lee Goodall,
Chris Batchelor, Andy Hague, Dave Goodier, and Osian
Roberts. As well as running his own band, Undercurrent,
James is involved with the Nick Malcolm Quintet, which
features Kevin Figes. He has worked with The Jake
McMurchie Band and Sema, a duo featuring Ben Thomas
on trumpet. |

An
experimental/free jazz-CD is soon to be released along
with a standards and originals CD featuring The Julian
Martin/ James Chadwick Project.
A respected jazz educator, James has taught on the
Wavendon and Jamie Abersold jazz courses, so the part
of the session on the 29th April devoted to the workshop
should be a good one. |
